Verasight 2025 IVF Knowledge & Public Opinion Survey
A national public opinion study using data from the 2025 APHA Omnibus Survey to examine public understanding of IVF, attitudes toward state-mandated insurance coverage, and perceptions of the medical necessity of fertility treatment.
About the Study
Using nationally weighted survey data, this study examines how Americans understand and perceive IVF and fertility insurance coverage policies. The project explores public knowledge gaps, common misconceptions about IVF, and reasons for opposition to state-mandated insurance coverage for fertility treatment.
Preliminary findings suggest substantial gaps in public understanding of IVF, including uncertainty about how IVF works and whether fertility treatment is medically necessary. These findings highlight the need for improved public education and health communication surrounding infertility and reproductive medicine.
The manuscript for this study is currently in preparation and is expected to be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal in Summer 2026.
