About Us
The Women’s Health Research & Action Center (WHRAC) is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing women’s health through rigorous research and targeted, evidence-based initiatives. Our work focuses on understudied, overlooked, and underfunded conditions within women’s health, where gaps in evidence and care continue to shape outcomes.
WHRAC was founded by women who have experienced firsthand the delays, inconsistencies, and gaps that too often define women’s healthcare. We exist to close those gaps by generating high-quality evidence, translating research into action, and supporting initiatives that improve care, access, and understanding across the women’s health spectrum.
Our initiatives include peer-reviewed research, webinars and educational programming, community events such as documentary screenings and expert-led discussions, and mission-aligned philanthropy and wellness experiences. Through these efforts, WHRAC connects research with real-world application and fosters informed, supportive spaces for women navigating complex and frequently misunderstood conditions.
WHRAC’s current areas of focus include infertility, pregnancy loss, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and endometriosis, with an expanding emphasis on perimenopause and menopause. Across these areas, we work to strengthen the evidence base, elevate clinical and public health understanding, and improve outcomes for women.
